The first novel by biologist turned in to rock chronicler, Federico Arana, Las jiras (On tour) tells the story of Los Hijos del ácido (The sons of Acid), a typical early 70s mexican rock group which has to overcome the obstacles and censorship for rock music in Mexico while chasing their dream of crossing the border to the US and reach that promised land of freedom and expression they read in magazines.
