In 2025 Netflix released a documentary on Juan Gabriel, Mexico’s dearest singer and cultural icon. The series made use of the vast amount of footage and photos of his career that Juanga kept over the years.

My favorite part are the clips from his 1989 residence at El Premier, Mexico City’s finest nightclub at the time, where the finest folks and celebrities would gather to enjoy a dinner and a show by the country’s top performers. A great snapshot of how mexican culture was changing at the end of the century.
