Los Periodistas

Los Periodistas (The Journalists) is the title of a 1977 novel by mexican writer Vicente Leñero. Based on real events, it tells the story of the struggle of the Excelsior newspaper, run by Julio Scherer against the govern of that time, headed by Luis Echeverría. The situation ends in the so called «blow to Excelsior» which leads to an exodus of journalist and the birth of a new magazine: Proceso.
This proposal of dust jacket makes an emphasis on power dynamics between Scherer and Echeverría. And it also takes inspiration in the design of mid-century dust jackets with the use of o a limited color palette and type arragement.

Los Periodistas es el nombre de una novela escrita en 1977 por Vicente Leñero. Basada en hechos reales, narra la lucha entre el periódico Excelsior, dirigido por Julio Scherer y el gobierno de la época, liderado por Luis Echeverría. La situación concluye en el llamado «golpe a Excelsior» que provoca un éxodo de periodistas y el nacimiento de un nuevo semanario: Proceso.
Esta propuesta de sobrecubierta hace énfasis en la lucha de poder entre Scherer y Echeverría. También toma inspiración el diseño de las sobrecubiertas de mediados del siglo XX con el uso de una limitada paleta de colores y acomodo tipográfico.
